Members of the Isle of Man Arts Council and other guests enjoyed a reception at Milntown to celebrate the launch of The Northern Theatre Experience at Ramsey Grammar School’s 6th Form Lecture Theatre. The inaugural event saw the screening of National Theatre Live’s production of “Obsession” starring Jude Law, and directed by Ivo van Hove, on Thursday 11th May.

Head Teacher Mrs Annette Baker welcomed the audience to the first in a varied programme of productions to be shown over the coming months, and expressed her thanks to the Isle of Man Arts Council for their support in this venture, which will bring the best of live theatre to the northern community, and beyond.

Future productions include “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” starring Imelda Staunton and Conleth Hill, broadcast from the Harold Pinter Theatre in London, and “Salomé” (encore), a radical retelling of the classic biblical tale, from the National Theatre. Families will enjoy “Peter Pan”, also from the National Theatre, which is an encore matinée on Saturday 8th July. Tickets available from
