Mrs Baker accompanied the Sixth Form Head Boy and Head Girl and their deputies when they were invited onboard HMS Ramsey to experience a brief insight into life at sea. The Royal Navy mine hunter is visiting the Island on a three day affiliation visit and the students joined the ship on its way into Douglas via a pilot ship.

The students and Mrs Baker were warmly welcomed by Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Commander Louise Ray, who has recently taken over command, and her crew. They were taken on a tour of the ship and witnessed life onboard, including a 'man overboard' drill; they were even given the opportunity to steer the ship discovering new skills (or not) previously unknown!

It was a fantastic experience for all involved and one that will be remembered for a long time.
